New Experiences

Each step of life is a new experience.

I decided to go back to school to pursue my "Encore" career at 48.75 years old. And by Career, I mean enter the workforce again after parenting for my entire adult life. I've had many eclectic part-time jobs along the way - a true jack of all trades, from designer of dresses, fashion forward needlepoint, high end tie dye, to working in the family dental business, and executive administration of small businesses. Mostly, however, I mommed.

With my children growing, I was seeking to turn my experiences into a final conglomeration of all I loved and with my strongest skills forward.

So I looked into graphic design. What I found were hip, energetic youngsters with their fingers on the pulse of culture and technology. Don't get me wrong, I could keep up at a jog, but it seemed like they were full out running.

Then I explored database design. With all the data in the world, and my background in geek, this looked like a good pivot - still relevant in a digital culture, but slower paced than graphic design.

I was ready to sign up for data management when I was tempted by Facebook to sit in on a virtual open house for the Academy of Homeopathy Education. It was late July and they were enrolling for September. They were in my feed because I was a home prescriber and enthusiast of homeopathy, but I was not thinking about anything but taking care of my kids, dogs and maybe an occasional neighbor.

Oh, and also, it was post-covid world and I decided to homeschool to save my children from online-only education (that will be a story for a different day). The day I turned in my notice at my part time gig at the dental office so I could focus on homeschooling, I got a call from AHE that they accepted my application. I was taken by surprise, as my application was a formality in applying for a tech support opening which I doubted I'd get in the first place.

It took me about 4 minute to say yes, and 3 years later, I find myself a classically trained homeopath. My kids are back in school because they took advantage of my obsessive quest to know all things homeopathy and stopped doing their math assignments while I was in classes and clinics.

My experience in school, seeing live clients in clinic and working with my own clients while in supervision revealed to me the healing design of homeopathy. Design is a form of problem solving, and I have found that my years of diverse experiences mostly involved problem solving in the form of design. Homeopathy involves problem solving for being well, and the pieces of each clients' health creates their own unique design of which I learn to match to homeopathic remedies.

I have found that this new experience for me, even at an age when many of my friends are talking about retirement is a true calling for me. Helping sick people discover a way to be well is a honor each time we connect.

As I open my homeopathic practice, I invite you to experience something new, something unique, something deeply healing - Experience Homeopathy.
